The Sig Sauer P365 Tacpac is, for sure, one of the most popular handguns of its kind on the market, offering a range of benefits. It offers undoubted quality – something you can feel the moment you take it into your hands. However, what we’re looking at here today are the holstering options.
The reason why the P365 is so popular for concealed carry is its diminutive dimensions and the different holstering options. Here we’ll be looking at three options; 1) the outside waistband holster, 2) the inside waistband holster (the one you get as part of the tacpac), and 3) the waistband gun/mag holster.
Option #1 – The Outside Waistband Holster
Our first option is the P365 holster that sits in place either on the outside of the waistband or the belt. Using this option and wearing just a t-shirt, you can see the print on your profile, but it’s negligible. Held in place by the holster’s claws, it’s usually best to wear this one with a coat on, or it’s not going to be concealed that well.
Option #2 – Inside the Waistband Holster
Our next choice is a product that’s actually made by Sig Sauer – which is why you’ll find it being offered as part of the Sig Sauer P365 tacpac. Due to sitting inside the waistband, this option is much more concealed and is a viable option – even if you’re just sporting a T-shirt.
It can be worn at the front or as an appendix carry, but if you do, watch out when you sit down, as it’s going to dig into your leg. The easiest way around the problem is just to wear it at the rear – as it doesn’t have too much of an impact on your draw speed.
Option #3 – The Inside Waistband + Mag Holder Option
Interestingly, our last option is the one that we like the most, although the holster you get with the Sig Sauer P365 Tacpac package isn’t too far behind. The option we’re talking about is the inside waistband holster that also comes with a mag holder, and it’s manufactured by a company called Spider.
Again, it’s hard to spot the weapon on the profile of someone just wearing a T-shirt, but what makes it so comfortable is that has been designed with the curvature of the human torso in mind. Even when sitting down with the holster at the front, this choice is comfortable, and you can just leave it where it is.
This choice also comes with the added benefit of increasing the number of available rounds you have to defend yourself against attackers. As many as 27 rounds can be at your disposal, but we would practice drawing, as it can stick a little if you’re not expecting how firmly it holds the handgun.
The Sig Sauer P365 Tacpac Holster Options Are Varied
People buy the Tacpac because it offers great value in that the in-waistband holster comes with it, but you have first to consider whether it is the right option for you. Chances are, you’ll be fine with this holster, however, if you don’t know what to compare it against, you won’t know how comfortable and easy to fire the best holster can be.
That’s why we’d always recommend trying them out for size. It could be that the P365 is the perfect option, but you simply need an aftermarket holster instead.
