Here we will come to know that music is the best and free of cost therapy for the students to fight back, stress, anxiety, depression and exhaustion which they often go through due to their academic pressure and pressure of academic benchmarks. Stress can be dangerous to the student’s health in a lot of ways. Although science says that stress in limited amounts can be supportive too in order to motivate the students but beyond the limit it will harm the physical and mental health of people in many ways. Being less experienced students are not able to understand that they are under pressure and gradually slipping into a lap of depression or stress. Power of music is tremendous. It travels through ears and its influence can be seen directly on emotions and heart. It can be explained through some examples, like when we hear national anthem, then our heart fills with patriotic feelings, some songs make us nostalgic and take us to some past memories, some sad songs make us remember some sad moments or betrayal, whereas some songs make us remember our loving and dear ones, listening to romantic songs changes our mood to romantic and students are often suggested to play some relaxing music which can relax brain muscles and grab the students out of the stress in their mind so that they can concentrate on the study relaxingly.
Therapeutic Effects of Music:
- When students have heavy pressure of study and learning and they don’t get any way to relax their mind, then they can put some good quality earphones on their ears so that extra noise and sounds can be filtered and listen to some soothing and relaxing music, whether songs or instrumentals like piano or flute which have very soothing tunes. Such music puts the mind in a relaxing and balancing mode.
- It is a very weird thing to believe but music also helps the students to make their mind free from fear and feeling of fear. Among all the properties of music, removing fear is most amusing one, for this we can take example of stunt bikers, they can be seen often having plugged in earphones in their ears while performing some exciting music with high volume and bass so that when they perform the stunt, they should not feel fear and they can perform their stunt properly.
- Many times it happens with students that they get frustrated very badly and get no way to get out of that frustration. This fills them with anger and this makes them cause harm to themselves or to others which is never a beneficial thing for the students and their academic career. When students have to wait for submission of any important document and they have to wait in a long que then they usually get frustrated and irritated and in such a state they can plug in earphones and play sweet and soothing music due to which they can reduce frustration and they can focus on their task.
- When students focus on their health during their learning process then they give their 100 % to keep themselves healthy and fit so that with a healthy body and mind they can achieve their goals but while doing exercises (which itself is a good stress reliever) sometimes students feel very bored and exhausted also. Then some good music with high bass makes the mood to do something heavy and exciting and, in this way, a sudden music converts exhaustion and tiredness into enthusiasm.
